Why PricePerGig is the Best
At PricePerGig.com, I don’t just aggregate storage deals - I enhance them with valuable information and features that make your shopping experience better than anywhere else.
How PricePerGig Adds Value
- I don’t just put the links in one place and make them easy to sort, search, filter and find, I add information.
- I add the read speed and write speed of all PCIe storage devices where I can find it.
- I parse the titles and other text to make the listings more consistent and easier to find.
- Full Technology, Interface, Form Factor hierarchy that makes sense (because it’s based on how computers work, not necessarily how storage manufacturers want to sell it). Did you know that NVMe drives are just SSD drives over PCIe?
- Sort, filter, and find by all the information I add. Using the latest web technologies you have instant sorting of over 7000 items.
- Mobile friendly, tablet friendly, desktop friendly - the only listical site that puts mobile first.
- Deal Digest; never miss out on the best deals, receive a personalized digest of storage deals that match your preferences delivered straight to your inbox.
- Fully translated, be at home with the site in your language.
- Tags, tags, tags. (If you can’t see a tag, that’s because none of the available drives have it)
- I add tags to the listings to make them easier to find; Amazon Prime, Free Shipping, Fulfilled by Amazon, etc.
- I added CMR and SMR tags, you can read all about it here CMR SMR and all about how I tag drives
- Learn about all the smart tags and how to use them
Amazon Specific Stats
64% more listings than any other site.

Compared to reading the meta data alone from amazon (e.g. capacity, interface, form factor etc.) I use LLMs (a bit like ChatGPT) to read the listing and organize the information more consistently. This means I have more valid listings to choose from, providing you with the best choices across amazon.

Finding the less well known listings is challenging, especially when I end up finding ‘books’ about hard disk drives and extra, even though I’m using the full category information (called browse nodes) I filter out the books and other non-storage listings for you. This means I save you time, you don’t need to filter out these things, it’s done for you.
I tested this on 7000 listings from amazon.com. Parsing the ‘capacity’ meta data alone compared to me using an LLM to parse the listing and obtain the capacity. Using an LLM improved the number of listings by 64%. Incidentally, the European sites under the same test gave an even larger improvement, except Amazon.de. I’m sure I could write a whole book about this!
